I was born in a coastal city known as Chennai (previously named Madras by the British) in South India. My bachelor's degree is in Chemical engineering, and subsequently after graduation I worked for 3 years in a petroleum refinery. I later came to U.S. to obtain M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at Texas Tech University. After a brief period of 3 years at Oak Ridge National Lab in Tennessee, I am excited to be back at Tech to work in Dr. Reible's group. My research career has so far leaned towards tackling fundamental problems in environmental science but I intend to apply the skills and knowledge thus gained in solving issues pertaining to the broader engineering side. My research interests areas belong to contaminant geochemistry, photochemistry, isotope forensics, and remediation.
