What is German Club?

German Club is for anyone who is interested in German-language cultures and traditions and/or wants to practice their German-language skills.

During the semester, German Club offers weekly conversation hours (in German or English) called "Kaffeeklatsch" where you can connect with other students of German - or just "Germanophiles". Due to COVID-19, these weekly conversation hours are happening online through Discord.

Each semester, there are also exciting in-person cultural events, such as the St. Martin Lantern Walk (fall semester), German potlucks (spring semester), and more! These are all free and teach you about an aspect of German-language cultures today!

Stay also tuned for German Movie Nights and Game Nights - due to COVID-19, currently also online.

Who can join?

Anyone at Texas Tech may join: undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and staff – as long as you bring your passion for German language and German-speaking cultures. All levels of German are welcome. No membership dues required. Please become a member on TechConnect to be informed of upcoming events!
