Robert E. Dragoo, Jr., was born March 27,1940 in Beaumont, Texas. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1962 from Texas Tech University.

Upon graduation from Texas Tech, he joined Boeing’s Saturn Division in Seattle, Washington, where he attended programming school and participated in re–entry configuration/heat–transfer studies for the Aerospace Division. Later, he developed flight simulators for training astronauts in the Mercury and Gemini programs.

In 1964, Mr. Dragoo was asked to join Goodrich Gulf Chemicals to develop and install the first process control computers. IBM asked him in 1967 to be a systems engineer and then a sales representative in the data acquisition and control market.

He was one of the founders of Biles and Associates, Inc., a computer control software/consulting group and served as Director of Marketing for that company from 1969–1975. In 1975, Stearns and Roger, Inc. offered him a position as the Chief Control Systems Engineer. This position involved major projects and provided him with the opportunity to represent the United States Department of Energy in a technology exchange with the National Coal Board of England. He also had numerous technical achievements at Stearns Roger.

In 1980, Mr. Dragoo was named Director of Control Applications and Marketing at Honeywell, where he created a technical career ladder for engineers and an industrial energy management technology. While at Honeywell, he attended the Harvard Management Program.

He was approached by SETPOINT, Inc., in 1983, to be Director of Business Development. He progressed to the position of President of SETPOINT Canada, Ltd., before leaving the company in 1989 to pursue another interest.

His professional affiliations include being a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. He also is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers; the Instrument Society of America; and the Society of Control Instrumentation, and Electrical Processing.

An ordained deacon at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, Mr. Dragoo is very involved in church youth activities and is a mission trip sponsor. He also is a member of the Board of Directors of Choice Ministries and of Ralph Neighbor Radio Ministries.

He is married to the former Willie Watson, who attended Texas Tech from 1959-1962. They have two children, Brent, who received his BS. from Texas Tech in 1988, and Holli, a Texas Tech senior.
