UIL Competition

Advancing to State Level Championships

  • There are two state level championships:
    • Texas BEST Robotics Regional Championship (hosted by UT Dallas)
      • Teams can advance to Texas BEST based on either:
        • BEST Award Performance
        • Final Ranking in the Robotics Competition
    • UIL State Championship – BEST Robotics Division (hosted by BEST of Texas Robotics)
      • UIL advancement is separate from Texas BEST and is based on:
        • Registration to participate as a UIL team at the hub level
        • BEST Award Performance
  • Texas BEST and the UIL Championship will determine a team allotment for each hub
    • Teams may advance to both events
    • The number of teams advancing will be determined after all kickoff events have been completed

UIL Robotics

  • Pilot State Championship - BEST Robotics Division (in addition to, not in place of, the regular BEST Robotics season
    • Hubs serve as qualifying events for teams to advance
    • Teams MUST compete in BEST Award
    • UIL will award State Champion and a runner-up in two conferences: large (5A-6A) and small (1A-4A)
    • Pilot State Championship Event held jointly with Texas BEST (December 8-10 in Frisco, Texas at the Dr. Pepper Arena
