First-gen professional thrives at Chevron

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Heather Clayton began her professional career in the oil and gas industry as a key communicator. But when Chevron Corporation bought her previous company, she became a significant part of the business. Now, Clayton sought to receive her master's degree and chose Texas Tech's College of Media & Communication Strategic Communication & Innovation program to allow her to grow as a global and international communicator for Chevron Corporation.

Alumni visits campus, reflects on his time in CoMC

Paul Lopez, a respected alumni and graduate of the former Electronic Media & Communication (EMC) degree program in the College of Media & Communication, recently spoke as a guest lecturer to CoMC courses. When speaking with students, Lopez discussed his role in the entertainment workforce and what he applied from his experience as a student in his full-time career.

Brown Finds Success through CoMC Graduate Program

The Director of Public Relations at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, Kim Brown, went back to school after switching industries and received her master's degree at the Texas Tech College of Media & Communication. Now, Brown is thriving as the President-elect for the Greater Fort Worth chapter of Public Relations Society of America.
