5th Texas Tech University Hispanic/Latinx Research & Creativity Symposium

March 26-27, 2020

The symposium will feature research and creative work by TTU faculty, staff, and graduate students working in any discipline connected to Hispanic/Latinx topics. The symposium's goal is to feature the work of Texas Tech scholars and artists in the wake of our achieving Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) status.

The symposium will also feature two special sessions, one on teaching at a Hispanic-Serving Institution, and another on the intersection of Communication, Translation, and Interpretation.

Please submit your proposal or finished work via email to gabriel.partida@ttu.edu by February 14, 2020.

How can Texas cities take a lead role in the immigration debate?

Together with the United States and Mexico Center at Rice University, the Harris Institute is co-organizing a forum regarding immigration for the evening of Monday, October 14, in the Student Union Building on campus. The event will consist of discussion among several experts on immigration/international affairs and discussion with the audience. There will also be a brief screening of a video produced by a partner of the Rice group, Rational Middle. Reception to follow.
