How does TTU define a First Generation College Student?
A Student is considered First Generation in College (FGC) when neither parent(s) or guardian(s) has earned a Bachelor's degree in the United States.
First Generation Transition & Mentoring Programs (FGTMP)
Seeks to support undergraduate students that identify as first-generation in college as they pursue their undergraduate degree. FGTMP offers:
Peer Mentorship, Social Engagement, & Student Success Activities
Focused on increasing undergraduate student sense of belonging at TTU. By connecting First-Generation Mentees with an upper level First-Generation Peer Mentor, Program Participants will gain a built-in network of support as they navigate their university experience in order to promote their personal, social, and academic well-being.
