The McNair Explorers Program is a year-long preparatory program for first-year and
sophomore students to introduce them to undergraduate research and graduate school
resources, while also preparing them for applying to the McNair Scholars Program.
Explorers will participate in several workshops and seminars each fall and spring
semester. Workshops and seminars will cover topics such as: "What is Research?;" "What
is Graduate School?;" "Why go to Graduate School?," as well as seminars on library
research, research methods, and other research opportunities and resources on campus.
The activities in the McNair Explorers program complement the McNair Scholars Program.
Students who complete the Explorer Program will be given preference for acceptance
into the McNair Scholars Program.
