Coronavirus Update from Dean Mendez about Phase IV: March 25, 2020

Dear College of Education Community,

I wanted to send a quick follow-up note after President Schovanec's announcement of the move to Phase IV of the Emergency Remote Work Status Operational Phases.

Because of the hard work of the staff, associate chairs, chairs, and associate deans, we are fully prepared to shift to Phase IV as a college, although it will be a physical and cultural adjustment. At this time, we will not be asking the Office of the President for any exceptions to Phase IV. Our IT staff will not be physically present on campus during this phase. If you need any hardware, please let IT know as soon as possible before we implement Phase IV at the end of day Thursday.

Looking forward from here, we will continue to think proactively as a community. I would like to have a futurist game plan in order to minimize stress and keep us moving forward together.

We have a Leadership Team meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. today. These meetings are always open, so please feel free to join us. Upcoming meetings will be held every two weeks unless otherwise specified.

I am eternally grateful to have all of you as colleagues and fully appreciate your collective leadership and support during these choppy waters!

Best,

Jesse Perez Mendez
