Coronavirus Update from Dean Mendez about Remote Work Preparation: March 13, 2020

Colegas,

I hope that you are all having a relaxing evening with your families and/or loved ones. I have two asks for our college community as the faculty and staff leaders of the college are thinking through what information that is needed to have at hand to make the best decisions going forward.

First, whenever you have the opportunity, please update your emergency contact information via Raiderlink. This information will enable the institution to contact you as this situation evolves. We have noticed that many associated with the college have not updated their contact information recently. It doesn't take too much of your time.

Second, we are also asking for our college community to complete a very quick needs assessment that will better inform us as we position ourselves to virtual working environments for the time being. The survey for the staff can be found here: https://educttu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0CEoPQjphbINiJv

We continue to monitor this ever-shifting situation and the movement of our school district partners while taking our cues from our central TTU leadership and Texas Education Agency. For those of you with little ones locally, the big three districts in Lubbock proper released a public statement with another possible one on Thursday: https://www.everythinglubbock.com/news/local-news/frenship-isd-lubbock-isd-lubbock-cooper-isd-release-joint-statement-regarding-coronavirus/.

Sincerely,

Jesse Perez Mendez
