Dr. Jerry Dwyer has a PhD in computational mathematics from the National University of Ireland. He worked for many years in computational mechanics related to fracture, composite materials and glaciology. In recent years, he has focused on issues of mathematical education and outreach and he has developed a wide range of K-12 outreach projects. His current interests include the mathematical education of teachers, undergraduate STEM learning and retention in the STEM disciplines, the scholarship of outreach, and computational mathematics. He is also interested in international outreach and has worked with university and K-12 educators in Africa.
