Mapathons for Veterans

Check for a mapathon near you.

Military Students and Veterans:

We are looking for participants in a new research study to understand how informal learning experiences such as mapathons may shape pathways for military and veteran communities from informal to formal STEM education, and ultimately to the civilian workforce.

Attend a Mapathon Event Near You.

Researchers will ask you to take a survey before and after the event. Volunteers will show you how to use remote sensing imagery to create mapping data to be used by a humanitarian project.

Participants in the mapathons will each receive a $50 gift card. Pizza will be provided. Siblings or children may be looked after by one of our research assistants. The whole event will last approximately two hours.
