TTU Welcomes New Regional Site Hires

Both Texas Tech University at Rockwall and Texas Tech University at Collin welcome new employees to their sites, Janet Veal and Deanna Calder respectively.

Janet Veal serves as an academic advisor at the Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy at Texas Tech University at Rockwall, TTU's most recent regional site. Her past experience includes working at Texas Tech in the Honors College as the coordinator of Academic Programming & Scholarships/senior advisor, external relations coordinator, and university-wide merit scholarship coordinator. While in these roles she served as an advisor to Golden Key International Honor Society and Eta Omicron Nu. Subsequent positions include serving as the executive business director for TeleMedVIP, working as a wine steward and operating her own estate sale company. Janet recently received her 15-year pin for all of her hard work and time with Texas Tech! Janet enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing fiddle/violin, acting, directing, and attending art, theatre and music events. Janet is a Texas Tech alumnus and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre.

Deana Calder serves as an academic advisor at TTU's regional site at the Collin Higher Education Center in McKinney. Prior to this role, she served as a staff member in the Undergraduate Programs office in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Baylor University. In this role, she developed student leader training, new student orientations, residential learning experiences and academic curriculum. Prior to working in higher education, Deanna served in a professional sales and marketing role at Oracle. Deanna enjoys spending time with her friends and family, weekend getaways, and enjoying live music. Deanna attended Baylor University where she earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing, and her Master of Science in Education, Higher Education and Student Affairs.
