In its first session of the 21st century, the Texas legislature made a commitment to fund higher education in rural Texas. The result was the Texas Tech Higher Education Site at Fredericksburg that opened in 2002.

On April 1 and 2 Texas Tech University will celebrate two decades of providing higher education to the Texas Hill Country.

Having university educational sites in the Hill Country is so important! TTU Highland Lakes and TTU Fredericksburg contribute to the economic development of the Hill Country region by advancing local businesses and the careers of the students who are able to learn where they live. Since the inception of these sites 20 years ago, the mission has been that educational goals can be achieved from anywhere. Students can prepare for a variety of careers and stay in their own community.

Come celebrate 20 years with us, 4-6 p.m. April 1 in Fredericksburg, and 9:30-11:30 a.m. April 2 in Marble Falls!
