Online Course Design Academy Celebrates Inaugural Class
By Bill Bukowski, Program Director
In July 2022, the eLearning instructional design team hosted our first summer Online Course Design Academy. Over two weeks, we held sessions with nearly twenty TTU faculty to explore the ways in which the face-to-face classroom can translate into (and be transformed by) online teaching and remote or asynchronous modalities. Our focus was on undergraduate course design, and our participants came from a wide mix of disciplines across the TTU campus.
Much like the current blended offerings of University classrooms, we offered options for both in-person and online participation to accommodate differing needs and help everyone get the most out of the experience. Future offerings of the academy will be scheduled to provide ongoing opportunities for faculty to attend. Please let us know if you'd like to join us in the future!
In the meantime, the Instructional Designers of eLearning are always available to consult with anyone teaching in Blackboard at TTU. And for those who would like a rigorous review of their courses, we offer Course Certification using the OSCQR rubric and an accessibility review from the TTU Online Accessibility team.
Finally, we'd like to thank all our inaugural class members:
