Welcome to TTU's Psi Delta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta. Sigma Tau Delta is an international English honor society which is committed to distinguishing students in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies for their contribution and accomplishments in the fields of English language and literature.

The TTU chapter of Sigma Tau Delta is comprised of students who have academically excelled in English studies. Our chapter is devoted to sharing the importance of English studies with the campus and community through student-initiated service projects, marathon readings, writing workshops, and literary events.

We are proud to be part of TTU's English department. Please take a few minutes to explore our pages and learn more about Sigma Tau Delta! For the 2016 fall semester, Sigma Tau Delta meets every Thursday from 6–7 PM in the second-floor student lounge of the English building. On the third Thursday of every month, we hold a "Thursday Think-tank" where students are encouraged to bring a piece of their own writing for sharing in a supportive workshop setting.

For the most current information, join our open Facebook group for Sigma Tau Delta at Texas Tech, where we post events, meetings, and announcements of interest to our members, and follow us on Twitter (@SigTD_TTU) for updates and information.

Membership:

Active membership in Sigma Tau Delta is open to junior undergraduate and graduate English majors and minors who possess a 3.0 GPA in their English courses. If you are a freshman and would like to join, you will be an associate member. Associate memberships for faculty and non-majors are also available.

Generally, students apply for membership at the beginning of each semester. The dues for new members include a one-time national fee of $40.00 and a yearly chapter fee of $15.00. The one-time fee pays for the new member's honor cords, pin, and certificate; chapter fees cover yearly expenses for events, t-shirts, snacks, publicity, etc. For returning or associate members, the fee is solely the yearly chapter fee of $15.00. The yearly chapter fee is determined by the Treasurer, and is subject to change.
