The English Department offers a flexible minor in English that allows students to take classes in literature, linguistics, or film and media studies that are tailored to their interests. The English minor consists of 18 hours from the following requirements: English 1302; two 2000-level English courses; and nine hours of advanced English courses (3000- or 4000-level). A maximum of 3 advanced hours of transfer credit will be accepted for the minor.

The English minor is available to both onsite and online students. Because of its flexibility, it is a particularly attractive major for B.A. students in the College of Arts & Sciences, who often fulfill half of the minor through Core Curriculum requirements and the English Literature requirements of the College.
