Making the transition into Texas Tech is an exciting and challenging time in your life. Whether you are coming to us directly from high school, transferring from another college/university, transitioning from the military or coming from the workforce, we are excited to work with you in creating a comfortable transition and successful start to your TTU career.
New Student Resources
Raider Welcome is a series of FUN and FREE events designed to welcome new and returning students to the Texas Tech campus. Raider Welcome occurs after Residence Hall move-in and throughout the first week of classes.
First Year Raider Experience (FYRE) can lead you to a winning first year. FYRE is a collaborative collection of programs and services that will assist you in your transition to college living and provide a support system to help you successfully graduate from Texas Tech University.
While this isn't your first collegiate experience, this is your first year at Texas Tech, and we want to make you feel welcome and help you through your journey in higher education. Consider the Transfer Connection as a way to get to know your new home.
Red Raider Orientation (RRO) is an opportunity for new students to learn about Texas Tech University and the programs and services offered. Red Raider Orientation was designed to guide each new student at Texas Tech to success. While at RRO, students will get the chance to meet other new students, get advice from current students, meet with an advisor, register for classes, learn new Texas Tech traditions, and have fun!
Red Raider Camp is a three-day adventure filled with numerous activities for incoming Red Raiders. RRC is an optional program dedicated to preparing future Red Raiders for success at Texas Tech University. *Please note: RRC does not take the place of Red Raider Orientation. Red Raider Orientation is REQUIRED for all incoming students.

Texas Tech University has one of the most comprehensive departments for students with disabilities in the state, where the Student Disability Services (SDS) staff provides a variety of accommodations and services for individuals with disabilities. Accommodations will be made in response to the specific disability.
