Red Raider Camp plays an important role in the lives of incoming students, including an opportunity to try new activities, develop meaningful relationships with incoming and current students, learn the history and traditions of Texas Tech, and have fun! As we continue to navigate our programming during this time, Red Raider Camp's safety protocols will continue to adapt to follow the guidelines of the CDC, state/local guidelines, and Texas Tech Commitment.
It's important to us that you know what safety precautions to expect when signing up for Red Raider Camp.
Per a directive from Texas Tech System Chancellor Tedd Mitchell, an executive order by Governor Greg Abbott, and recent guidance from the CDC, Texas Tech University will be revising our campus COVID-19 protocols.
Effective immediately, all protocols outlined in the Texas Tech Commitment will be lifted, including the mandatory face-covering policy. Face coverings will now be optional. The only exception is that federal guidelines require passengers using public transportation (including Citibus) to wear a face covering, and that applies to all riders, both on and off-campus.
For those who have not been vaccinated, face coverings are highly recommended to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Although we are lifting these protocols, our operations team will continue to provide sanitization stations across campus along with our enhanced cleaning practices.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and visitors with other health conditions are at higher risk.
By visiting Texas Tech University guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
