Israt Jahan is a research assistant at the Free Market Institute and a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University.
She has earned her B.S.S. and M.S.S in Economics from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh in 2012. She has worked as a research associate at SANEM, a non-profit economics research organization, in Bangladesh from 2013 to 2015.
Prior to joining Texas Tech University, Israt received her Masters in Applied Labor Economics for Development (MALED) from the University of Turin in Italy in 2016.
Her research interests include institutions and economic development, informality and corruption.
