Raymond March, Research Assistant Professor

Raymond March is a research assistant professor at the Free Market Institute. He is also the assistant director for Free Market Institute programming and an assistant professor of economics at the Norris-Vincent College of Business at Angelo State University.

Ray's research focuses on health economics, new institutional economics, and political economy. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed articles scholarly journals including Health Economics, Southern Economic Journal, Public Choice, Journal of Institutional Economics, and Research Policy

Ray serves as a research fellow and director of FDAReview.org at Independent Institute. He also serves as a fellow with the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) Public Choice and Public Policy Project. He has published articles on a range of issues in health economics and policy in National Interest, Washington Times, Washington Examiner, The Hill, RealClearHealth, and other popular and news outlets. 

Ray earned his Ph.D. in agricultural and applied economics from Texas Tech University. He previously taught at San Jose State University. Before joining Texas Tech and Angelo State in September 2024, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics and a faculty fellow with the Center for the Study of Public Choice and Private Enterprise at North Dakota State University. At Angelo State, Ray teaches undergraduate courses in Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, and Intermediate Macroeconomics.
