Emily

Emily Massey

Major: Marketing

Minor: Drawing, Studio Art

Emily is a senior from Hurst, Texas and serves of the Public Relations Chair of WLI. She is in the Honors College, majoring in Marketing. Emily is currently working as an Illustrator and Cartoonist for the Daily Toreador, as well as a volunteer artist for a TTU S.H.A.R.C Lab research project. As an artist, Emily enjoys observing the world through different lenses, and loves to engage in diverse portraiture. Emily graduates in December of 2019 and plans to use her unique skills to take on a career in the evolving creative media industry.

 

Sheela

Sheela Sharma

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Minor: Physics and Mathematics

Sheela is a senior from Allen, Texas and serves as the Outreach Chair of WLI. She is hoping to pursue a masters in mechanical engineering after completing her bachelor's degree in May 2020. She is the president of Pi Tau Sigma, a prominent mechanical engineering honor society. Sheela works with Texas Tech's engineering department and FTC Robotics, helping high school students interested in the STEM field to get involved and expand their knowledge and experience. Outside of school and work, she is an avid reader and loves to find time to lose herself in a book or a movie marathon with her friends.

 

Elizabeth

Elizabeth Doria

Major: Political Science

Minor: International Studies

Elizabeth Doria is a senior from Prosper, Texas and serves on the Membership Committee of WLI. She is also an active member of the National Residence Hall Association and serves as a Community Advisor. After graduation she plans on going into law enforcement. In her free time she enjoys playing video games and thrift shopping.

 

Lauren

Lauren McKenzie

Major: Human Sciences

McKenzie is a senior at Texas Tech University, completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Sciences. At Texas Tech, Ms. McKenzie works as an assistant to the office of Research Development, is an active member of Mortar Board Honor Society, and serves as President of the Gamma Xi Chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity. Governor Greg Abbott appointed her to serve as the student representative to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. McKenzie was also appointed as the Director of Political Affairs for the Texas Tech Student Government Association after serving consecutive terms in the Student Government Senate. After graduating she hopes to pursue graduate degrees in education policy.

 

Rylee

Rylee Hamlin

Major: Chemical Engineering

Rylee is a junior from Flower Mound, Texas and serves as the Membership Chair of WLI. She is also a member of the Society of Women Engineers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. She enjoys reading and volunteering in her spare time.

 

Hunter

Hunter Hatfield

Major: Marketing, Management

Hunter is a junior from Prosper, Texas and serves on the Outreach Committee of WLI. Hunter is also involved in many organizations on campus including Alpha Phi, Order of Omega, Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma. She works as a Student Assistant in the Office of the Provost Division of Student Affairs. She hopes to one day pursue a career that benefits both women and animals.

 

Hannah

Hannah Peters

Major: Energy Commerce

Hannah is a junior from Amarillo, Texas and serves on the Outreach Committee of WLI. She is a member of the Honors College and has served as a Student Government Association senator representing the honors college, participated in the McLane Teammates Economics Reading Group, and tutored local middle schoolers through Lubbock Youth Outreach. She currently is currently a member of Delta Gamma Women's Fraternity and serves as treasurer for Rho Lambda honor society. She is most proud of her leadership roles in Tech's Women's Lacrosse Club as past treasurer and current president. After completing her undergraduate degree, Hannah aspires to pursue a law degree with an emphasis in energy and environmental law.

 

MarcheMatthews

Marché Matthews-Noel

Major: Environmental Engineering

Marché is a junior from Houston, Texas and serves on the Public Relations Committee of WLI. She is a first-generation student with a Caribbean heritage. She plans to graduate with her Masters along with a STEM MBA. She is an Engineering Ambassador for the Whitacre College of Engineering and gives tours of the college to prospective students and their parents. She volunteers at events that encourage younger students to pursue engineering and attend Texas Tech. Furthermore, Marché is a proud Christian and leads a program at a Lubbock elementary school that teaches students about Christianity and the word of God. On campus, she is also involved in the Society of Women Engineers and the Texas Tech Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers. In her free time, Marché enjoys writing, cooking, playing volleyball and hanging out with her growing family.

 

Casey

Casey Collins

Major: Chemical Engineering

Casey is a sophomore from Lantana, Texas and serves on the Membership Committee of WLI. She plays polo for the Texas Tech's women's team. She is also a part of the Alpha Lamda Delta And Phi Eta Sigma honors society, as well as The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. In her free time she likes to read, ride horses, and work out. After college she hopes to be able to make medicines and contribute to cancer research.

 

Amy

Amy Shaw

Major: Accounting, Statistics

Amy is a sophomore from Mesquite, Texas and serves on the Public Relations Committee of WLI. She loves Texas Tech and the Lubbock community because it reminds her of home. Amy is a Terry Scholar. She is highly involved in the Tech Feral Cat Coalition and Raiders Helping Others. She is excited to become a stronger leader through WLI.

 

Eberechukwu

Eberechukwu Nwachukwu

Major: Accounting

Ebere is a sophomore international student from Delta State, Nigeria and serves on the Outreach Committee of WLI. She was an active member of freshman leadership association and interned under the external vice president of the student government association in the 2018-2019 academic year. She is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta/ Phi Eta Sigma honors society, Women in Business, National Association of Black Accountants and African Student Association. She plans to be an ambassador for student government next year. In the 2019-2020 academic year, she will be the finance director of the National association of black accountants and the treasurer for It's on Us, which raises awareness of sexual assault of women. In her free time, Ebere enjoys volunteering, studying math, watching crime shows, playing instruments, and learning new languages.

 

Lauren

Lauren Prince

Major: Mathematics

Lauren Prince is a sophomore mathematics major from Rosenberg, Texas. She serves as secretary of the Math Club. She is also an active member of Raiders Helping Others, Christians at Tech, the Association of Women in Math, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta Sigma. She spends her free time volunteering and reading books. After finishing her undergraduate degree at Tech, she hopes to pursue a masters degree in Educational Psychology.

 

Alexa

Alexa Fredrick

Major: Music Education and Oboe Performance

Alexa is a sophomore from Allen, Texas and serves on the Public Relations Committee of WLI. She is involved with the Goin Band and an active member of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity. In addition to her involvement with the School of Music, Alexa has participated in Raiders Helping Others and taken an Alternative Spring Break Trip to the Cherokee Nation.

 

Alondra Elena

Alondra Elena Sanchez

Major: Human Development in Family Studies

Alondra is a sophomore from Hamlin, Texas and serves on the Membership Committee of WLI. She is a first-generation student. She is a member of Raiders Helping Others (RHO), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), and the Pre-Nursing Association. She is now RHO's Vice President and HOSA's Treasurer. Alondra volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House and the Cancer Center/Infusion in the University Medical Center. She was an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Anatomy 1 and on the President's List last semester. She strives to be a Labor and Delivery Nurse and is prepared to become a stronger leader.
