Summary 

This layer contains populated places in Texas. This boundary file was specifically designed for multi scale thematic mapping and analysis.

Description 

            

              

                

                  

                    The spatial data 
                    originated 
                    from the US Census Bureau and 
                    were processed further by the Texas Tech Center for Geospatial Technology
                    . 
                    Geoprocessing was performed to convert the Census Texas populated places polygon into points representing the centroid of each polygon. 
                    The attributes were modified to include name, FIPS code, area information, population, and identification information.
