Summary

This layer contains a detailed boundary of the US with county subdivisions. This polygon file was designed for small scale thematic mapping and analysis.

Description

            

The spatial data were obtained from the US Census Bureau and are current as of 2010. The 1:500,000 US County Subdivision boundaries were downloaded from the Census TIGER website and the census attributes were deleted. Attributes were further modified to include county name, state abbreviation, FIPS code, and various identification information. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
