This layer contains populated places in Texas. This point file is intended for multi-scale thematic mapping and analysis.
The spatial data originated from the US Census Bureau and were processed further by the Texas Tech Center for Geospatial Technology. Geoprocessing was performed to convert the Census US populated place polygons into points representing the centroid. The attributes were modified to include name, FIPS code, identification information, label, area, and population. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
