This layer contains critical habitat locations in the US. This line file is intended for medium scale thematic mapping and analysis.
The spatial data were obtained from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service National Cadastral database . The file depicts the USFWS approved acquisition boundaries and USFWS managed lands, (National Wildlife Refuge and Hatchery Boundaries). The attributes were modified to include common name, scientific name, spcode, vipcode, status, various ID information, listing status, and comments. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
"The intended application of these data layers is as a cadastral framework for use with other data layers in GIS and mapping applications. It is not intended to be used as a land survey or representation of land for conveyance or tax purposes. The primary source for this information is the USFWS Realty program." - USFWS
