Summary 

This layer contains locations of major airports around the world. This point file is intended for multi-scale thematic mapping and analysis.

Description 

            

              

                

                  

                    The spatial data were obtained from Natural Earth. The airport data originated from Mile High Club, a compilation of world wide airports in the public domain. Attributes were modified to include type, featureclass, name, abbreviation, location, gps code, IATA code, and wikipedia link. The coordinate system of this data is WGS 1984.
