Fall 2019 Move In – Residence Halls open starting at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Move-In Hall Information Menu

Move-In Reminders For All Halls:

  • Keys can only be issued to the student residing in that space. To ensure safety, we cannot issue keys to parents, friends, or other family members.
  • Luggage carts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Carts may be borrowed for 60 minutes with a $10.00 (cash only) deposit. If the carts are kept longer than 60 minutes, the deposit will be donated to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

Check In For Wall/Gates, Hulen/Clement, And West Village.

  1. Park in any of the student parking lots near your residence halls (highlighted in blue on the map below.) Do not park in any fire lanes, or in the street.
  2. Proceed to your residence hall and go to the check-in location. Be prepared to present your student ID.
  3. Complete all needed paperwork and receive your room key.
  4. After receiving your key, you may begin moving in.

West Village


Horn/Knapp

  1. Due to 15th Street being closed for construction, residents of Horn/Knapp will need to enter from 19th street between Talkington Hall and the McKenzie Merket Alumni Center. 17th Street will become an exit only during move-in weekend.
  2. Proceed north through the parking lot to the east of Talkington Hall.
    • If traveling with a trailer, you will need to park your vehicle and the trailer in the lot south of the McKenzie Merket Alumni Center and proceed on foot to check-in at Horn/Knapp.
  3. Proceed to your residence hall and go to the check-in location.
  4. You will be permitted to unload your vehicle in the Z2 parking lot east of the Talkington Commons and south of Horn/Knapp hall.
    • After you have finished unloading your vehicle, you will need to move your vehicle to the Z2 parking lot to the east of Horn Hall.
    • Vehicles will only be permitted to unload for 30 minutes.
  5. Complete all needed paperwork and receive your room key.
  6. After receiving your key, you may begin moving in.

Horn/Knapp


Talkington

  1. Park in the large student lot on the east side of Talkington Hall. Access the parking lot from 19th Street if you are traveling west, or from University Avenue if you enter from 15th Street.
  2. Check-in will begin in the Talkington Multipurpose Room. Staff will be available to assist you, but be prepared to present your student ID.
  3. Complete all needed paperwork and receive your room key.
  4. After receiving your key, you may begin moving in.

Talkington


Chitwood/Weymouth

  1. Park in the large lot west of the Chitwood/Weymouth Complex. You must enter this lot from Indiana Avenue and onto 18th Street. Staff will be available in the parking lot to assist you.
    • From the East on 19th: Turn right (north) onto Indiana Avenue. Turn right at the first intersection to follow Indiana, then turn right (east) a final time onto 18th Street.
    • From the West on 19th: Turn left (north) onto Indiana Avenue. Turn right at the first intersection to follow Indiana, then turn right (east) a final time onto 18th Street.
    • Please note: West bound traffic will not be allowed onto 18th Street from Flint Avenue.
  2. During your move-in time block, you will proceed east on 18th Street with your Unloading Parking Pass displayed in the front window of your vehicle.
    • If you are within your move-in time, you will be able to continue towards Chitwood/Weymouth and unload your vehicle, complete the check-in process, and move your vehicle to the Flint Avenue Garage.
      1.  The Unloading Parking Pass allows 1 vehicle to be unloaded for up to 50 minutes with your move-in timeslot.
      2. If you arrive towards the end of your timeslot, you may be bumped to the next timeslot to allow for enough unloading time for your vehicle.
    • If you are not within your move-in time, you will be asked to park and wait in the Z4 parking lot or come back during your selected move-in time.
  3. You may also park in the Z4 and R19 parking lots and unload your vehicle without utilizing the Unloading Parking Pass process.  


*If arriving after 6 p.m., proceed to the hall office in Chitwood/Weymouth to complete your check-in.

Chitwood/Weymouth


Chitwood/Weymouth Route



Coleman

  1. Enter the large parking lot west of the Chitwood/Weymouth Complex. You must enter this lot from Hartford Avenue. Staff will be available in the parking lot to assist you.
    • From the East on 19th: Turn right (north) onto either Hartford or Indiana.
    • From the West on 19th: Turn left (north) onto Indiana. Turn right at the first intersection to follow Indiana, then turn right (east) a final time onto 18th Street.
    • Please note: West bound traffic will not be allowed onto 18th Street from Flint.
  2. Continue through the lot, and park in front of Coleman hall.
  3. Proceed to the hall office to complete your check-in paperwork. Be prepared to present your student ID.
  4. Complete all needed paperwork and receive your room key.
  5. Begin unloading as needed.

Coleman


Bledsoe/Gordon/Sneed

  1. Locate your unloading zone, based on the map below. Park in your unloading zone.
    • Sneed – on Broadway Avenue by the TTU seal.
    • Gordon and Bledsoe – in the Z-1 parking lot north of the complex (off of Glenna Goodacre Avenue).
  2. Proceed to your check-in location. Be prepared to present your student ID.
  3. Complete all needed paperwork and receive your room key.
  4. (Sneed residents only) If needed, you will be issued one temporary unloading permit, which allows 1 vehicle up to 30 minutes to unload from Main Street behind the building. (We suggest packing all heavy/large items in this vehicle.)
  5. Begin unloading as needed.*

*Sneed residents – be advised, due to the age of the building, there is no elevator. Professional movers will be on hand to assist with larger items, but we advise you to pack things securely.

Bledsoe/Gordon/Sneed


Stangel/Murdough

  1. Park in the student parking lots near your complex. You will enter these lots from Flint Avenue and Main Street. Do not park in any fire lanes, or in the street.
  2. Proceed to your residence hall office, which is located in the basement. Be prepared to present your student ID.
  3. Complete all needed paperwork and receive your room key.
  4. After receiving your key, you may begin moving in.

Stangel/Murdough


Murray, Carpenter/Wells, Honors

  1. Proceed to the Z-6 Parking lot. Enter this lot from Flint Avenue and 9th Street.
  2. Honors hall students will check-in at the Honors Hall Classroom, located on the first floor near the Starbucks. Be prepared to present your student ID.
  3. Murray and Carpenter-Wells students will check-in at the TV Lounge in Murray next to the hall office.
  4. Complete your paperwork and obtain your room key. Carts will be available for check-out with a $10 deposit.
  5. After receiving your key, you may wish to relocate your vehicle to the parking lot indicated on the map for ease of unloading. Staff will be available to assist you in determining the closest unloading lot.
