Hello!  My name is Jonna Mayer. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2014 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. While attending Texas Tech I took a course at the Child Development Research Center which confirmed my desire to work with children. After graduating from Tech in 2014, I began to work for Child Protective Services for a short period of time. I soon learned that I desired to work more closely with children on a daily basis. My experience with the CDRC was always in the back of my mind. Luckily, a teaching position became available at the Center. I have now been with the CDRC since August of 2015. I love the secure environment that the Child Development Research Center provides. The Center is like a second home to me. I especially love working with children and watching them develop right before my eyes. The bonds that are created between myself, the kids, and families are one of a kind. Each year, I look forward to creating everlasting bonds with the children. It is truly a joy to enable the growth of children. Another joy of mine is to work with Texas Tech students. Having been a lab student at the CDRC in the past, I know it can be a bit of a challenge. I like to provide the students with a welcoming atmosphere in which they can acquire information about children through active involvement.
