My name is Rickay Bennett and I graduated from Texas Tech in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  While completing my degree, I took the Infant Lab course as well as the Toddler Lab course in the Child Development Research Center. I quickly realized what a special place this was and returned the next semester as a Student Assistant. I worked as a student assistant in the toddler class for 2 years, then went on to student teach. After graduating, I moved back to my hometown of Amarillo, Texas, and was hired to work in the public school system. I worked as a public school teacher in Amarillo for 4 years and taught 3rd Grade and then Pre-K. I am ecstatic to be back at the CDRC as an Infant and Toddler teacher, where children can engage in appropriate experiences and learn in ways that are important for their own unique development. I love getting the chance to not only help children learn cognitively, but also socially, emotionally, and physically. I am extremely blessed to be working with such amazing colleagues in a place that I truly believe makes a difference in the lives of teachers, college students, children, and families!
