Texas Lottery - Introduction to Gambling

(6 CEUs possible)

The training will take place at the Texas Tech University Center for Collegiate Recovery Communities.   

Registration is $30.00.

The Introduction to Gambling Training will define “gambling”, providing an understanding of the grey areas of gambling (e.g., investing, bets with friends), outlining the best practices for screening and identifying individuals at-risk for for Gambling Disorder (GD).  The trainer will explain how GD interacts with other disorders, including the increasing overlap between GD and video gaming disorder.  Evidence-based treatment approaches for GD, including Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction will be discussed.  

Counselors, Social Workers, University Professionals, Educators, Clergy, and all are encouraged to attend.
