What is Early Head Start?

The Center for Early Head Start (CEHS) supports the development, health, and well-being of young children and their families.

CEHS is a federally funded grant program that provides high-quality childcare and home visiting services free of charge to those who qualify.

Who is the program for?

The Center for Early Head Start accepts pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age who live in the city of Lubbock and who meet income and eligibility guidelines.

What are the program options?

The TTU Center for Early Head Start Home-Based program consists of weekly one and a half-hour home visits, and weekly socialization opportunities. Services are available for pregnant moms and children ages birth to three years.

The TTU Center for Early Head Start Center-Based program offers high-quality childcare at the CEHS center. There are 8 children per room and two age groups. Services are available for children ages 6 weeks to three years.

Care is offered from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Both program options operate year-round.

What are the costs?

All Center for Early Head Start services are free to those who qualify. In addition, CEHS provides all diapers, wipes, formula, food, basic care supplies, and all educational materials.

The Center for Early Head Start center is located at 3315 East Broadway, Lubbock, TX 79403.

How do I apply?

Bring a child application or a pregnant mom application, and required documents (birth certificate, address verification, income verification, shot record, and medical insurance information) to 3315 E.
