Kurt Metcalf the current General Manager of the Overton Hotel and Conference Center, has worn many hats in the hospitality industry and is considered a dynamic, visionary with 30+ years of diverse leadership experience in full-service, luxury hotel and resort operations. He graduated from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration with his certification in food and beverage management and has been an active member of the American Culinary Federation since 2001. Apart from his academic achievements, Mr. Metcalf has worked at 5 diamond Michelin-rated restaurants such as The Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley, CA where he had various positions during a 10-year tenure including Executive Steward, Purchasing Manager, and Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.

Moving on to The Piscean Restaurant in Carmel, CA where he was most proud of being the Executive Chef for some time. He then moved on to become the Director of Food and Beverage in Various Resorts and Luxury Hotels throughout New York, Michigan, Maryland, West Virginia, and Ohio. Once he landed the Director of Food and Beverage position here in Lubbock he became a part of the Opening Team for The Overton in April of 2009. In December of 2010, he was promoted to General Manager. His commitment to quality and strategic leadership skills are crucial to successful operations in today's hospitality market.
