International Travel Guidelines January 26, 2021

 

As of January, 26 2021, travelers eligible to enter the US are to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than three days prior to flight departure. An acceptable test result must be in the form of written documentation (paper or electronic copy) of a laboratory test result. Testing must be performed using a viral test (NAAT or antigen), and negative results must be presented to the airline prior to boarding. Failure to provide satisfactory proof of negative test result will result in airline denying boarding of traveler. For further information please see here.

Travelers entering the US from abroad are advised after arrival to practice social distancing measures, get tested three to five days following travel, and stay home for seven days after travel.

Travelers are advised to review state and local travel requirements as some areas have further restrictions and requirements in place.

Any traveler who presents symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive for COVID-19 is required to delay travel and should self-isolate.

The US does not have any mandatory requirements for travelers departing the country. Travelers are advised to get tested again 1-3 days prior to departure travel as a precaution. Some countries only allow incoming travelers from the US in exceptional cases (diplomats, students, critical workers, etc.) and many have requirements including testing, quarantines, and travel forms that must be met.
