International Student Advisory Board 2014-2015

The International Student Advisory Board is a new program created within the Office of International Affairs. This program was created to expand student leadership opportunities and to gain valuable perspective from students about how to improve international services. Student satisfaction is a top priority for the Office of International Affairs and the entire Texas Tech Campus.

Becoming a member of the Advisory Board is a highly selective process and is part of a larger program called the Global Leadership Certificate Program. Through a competitive interview process, only a handful of ambitious student leaders are selected to participate in the program.

The main objective of the program is to observe international student services across campus. Each student identifies a specific area of interest to assess. Because this project and the tasks within the program are quite intensive, students are selected on their ability to be self-motivated and given a full academic year to complete the program.

Once the tasks and assessment projects are complete, the students have the opportunity to present their findings to the administrators of the University to affect positive change for all international students. The participants are then awarded the Certificate of Global Leadership, an accolade sure to stand out on any resume.
