Cosas de Sevilla #11, Spring 2018

4 april – 11 april 2018

Dear Family and Friends of The Texas Tech Center in Sevilla,

Here is a little bonus “cosas”.

One. This past week was the last session with the tutors. I have included one picture of our students waiting for the tutors to arrive, the second is one of the tutors.

Second. The weekend of April 6-8 found most of our students in the beautiful beach city of Lagos, Portugal, just about the most southwestern point of all Europe. Southern Portugal is beautiful, I think all who went want to do it again. It is one of my favorite areas to visit, as you can see from the cliffs overlooking the beaches, the beaches themselves, then there are the grottoes that one can go in and out of by small motorcraft.

Third. last night was the dance recital for our students and another group who have been learning Sevillanas. Due to a number of factors only 4 of our students were able to participate in the formal recital (well, actually six, as two of our students who were unable to do the entire recital did participate in part of it). The last picture is of our faithful group who came to support their friends at the recital. It was held at the Hospital de Caridad, which is a home for older and invalid men, a number of whom attended and were thrilled, especially by the beautiful girls.

This is a great introduction to the Feria de Sevilla, which will begin this Saturday and last for a week. There will be up to a million people in Sevilla this coming week, so a number of our students will be travelling.

Enjoy the photos.
