Program Overview

Please note this program has an application deadline of February 13th and a commitment deadline of February 22, 2023.

We are delighted to invite students to join a 10-day study tour of the Greek wine culture in May 2023. We will arrive in Athens and take a land tour of the Peloponnese. We will then travel by ferry to the island of Crete and Santorini.  The aim of the program is to learn about the local grape varieties, witness the evolution of wine making practices from antiquity to this day and to experience the Greek food and wine hospitality.  We will visit wineries featuring state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, as well as family owned & operated and record the diversity in wine tourism styles.

During our 10-day trip we will visit vineyards and wineries in the mainland and in 2 islands.  We will talk with winemakers and understand how climate, morphology and local grape varieties intertwine in creating unique wines.  Some group meals will be provided to give students an opportunity to exchange views and observations.
