Program Brochure
This Seville-based study abroad program offers students an opportunity to live in an historic Spanish city and learn about financial and commodity futures and options. The goal of the program is to integrate an understanding of futures and options markets into specific economic situations in order to improve the investment decision making. The program is designed to provide the students with a solid grounding and hands-on experience in futures and options trading for speculation, hedging, arbitrage, and spreading. Students also learn how to use different tools of fundamental and technical analyses for predicting prices, which are also very useful for trading stocks. The program includes various field trips to high-value agricultural operations, agribusinesses, and marketing companies. The trips provide a great opportunity to directly interact with Spanish producers, processors, and marketing agents. The course is highly valuable for the students in the Business School, Personal Financial Planning (PFP), Animal and Food Sciences, and Agricultural & Applied Economics.
