Dr. Charles Klein brings more than 30 years of professional practice experience to the classroom, where he teaches construction documentation and professional practice classes. He is a member of the TTU Teaching Academy and an advocate for the service-learning pedagogy. Research topics include combining service-learning with study abroad, design teaching pedagogies, and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CEPTD). Currently he is collaborating with the Department of State Health Services and their OLE! Texas initiative to promote healthier, more active Outdoor Learning Environments. As PI on a USDA Grant, he heads the Greenscape Design Studio that employs students as interns to design water conserving landscapes for Lubbock area residences.
