At Texas Tech Law, we are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can thrive. We are also committed, as a law school, to educating lawyers who are dedicated to justice, equality, freedom, and the rule of law.

We are building on a strong foundation at Texas Tech, but we can and will do more each year. Our Diversity and Inclusion Committee works to provide and promote programming that fosters an environment where all members of the Texas Tech law community are accepted, valued, and empowered. Our Gender Equity Committee strives to foster an equitable and inclusive environment for the entire Law School. Both committees are comprised of faculty, staff, and student representatives.

Our students are crucial partners in our efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion at Texas Tech Law School. The student Diversity Advisory Board provides support for traditionally underrepresented student populations focusing on affirmation of identity, creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment, and allyship. Throughout the year, our student organizations host many events that encourage a robust exchange of ideas and cultivate an environment where every student can succeed. We listen to our students and work with them to foster the community that we all want and deserve.

Our alumni are also a very important voice. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have chosen many different fields and industries, but they share the Texas Tech Law value of making the world a better place. We welcome their input and ideas. In particular, the alumni Special Committee on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice helps us identify resources to increase awareness of issues related to diversity and to promote a more welcoming campus environment.

We pledge to make every year at Texas Tech better than the last.
