Scholarships and awards below are available for law student application. Please note that each may have a different deadline and/or criterion.
Texas Tech Law School Foundation Diversity Scholarships
Texas Tech Law School Foundation scholarships are available to rising 2Ls and 3Ls, and have many different criteria, including those in a variety of diversity categories. Students must complete the entire application for all available scholarships in order to be matched with relevant scholarships. Applications open in the Fall semester of each year, and are due by February 1 of each Spring semester. Click for more information.
Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) Diversity Scholarship Program
TYLA intends to award three scholarships, first place $5,000, second place $3,000, and third place $1,500 to one or more law students from the ABA-accredited law schools or ABA-provisionally approved law schools in Texas. Application opens in Fall each year. Click for more information.
State Bar of Texas Diversity in the Profession Committee
The Bar Exam Study Support Scholarship is offered to deserving diverse Texas law school students. By offering this scholarship, the DIP committee hopes to assist members of minority populations attending law school to enter the legal profession and further diversify the State Bar. Texas Tech University Diversity Scholarships

Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Education Scholarship
Seeing an educational need in their congressional districts, the CBC Spouses Education Scholarship was established in 1988 by the spouses of Congressional Black Caucus members in response to federal cuts in spending for education programs and scholarships, which disproportionately affect people of color. This scholarship awards scholarships to academically talented and highly motivated students of all majors who intend to pursue full-time undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degrees. Selected applicants will be qualified African-American or black students. Applications are accepted in the Spring each year. Click for more information.
George A. Strait Minority Scholarships
George A. Strait Minority Scholarships are awarded annually to college graduates with meaningful law library experience who are members of a minority group as defined by current U.S. government guidelines, are degree candidates in an accredited library or law school, and who intend to have a career in law librarianship. Applicants must show evidence of financial need. Applications are due in the Spring each year. Click for more information.
