Art Breaks is a new program of the Museum of Texas Tech University that will provide participants with a hands-on learning experience with various art processes.

Led by Jill Hoffman, Helen DeVitt Jones Curator of Education, participants will look at a specific art process. Each session begins at 11 a.m. and will be held in the New Assembly Room.

The program begins with refreshments and an introduction to the day's program. The introduction will include handling art materials such as engraving plates, litho stones, watercolor papers, and the diverse tools that are utilized in creating art. The introduction may also include videos explaining how each art process works.

After the introduction, the group will move into the galleries to examine selected artwork and discuss various ways of creating art.

Funding for this program has been generously provided by the Helen Jones Foundation, Inc.
