Neal Patel is in his 5th year as the Associate Director of Choirs at Highland Park High School, and in his 8th year of teaching. Previously, Mr. Patel was the Associate Director at Earl Warren High School in Northside ISD. Mr. Patels' choirs consistently receive "Superior" ratings at UIL Concert & Sight Reading and his students achieve success at Solo & Ensemble Contest, as well as earn placement in Texas All-State Choirs. At Highland Park High School, he teaches AP Music Theory and directs the Beginning Tenor-Bass, Intermediate Treble, and Varsity Tenor-Bass choirs. In addition, he assists with teaching the Lads and Lassies Varsity Mixed Choir and the a cappella ensemble, Park Version. In addition to teaching, Mr. Patel is an active performer singing with the Highland Park Chorale, and is a staff singer and tenor section leader at Highland Park United Methodist Church. He attended Texas Tech University where he earned degrees in Finance and Accounting as well as Music Education. He holds professional affiliations with TMEA, TCDA, and ACDA, and proudly serves as the Region 20 TMEA Vocal Division Secretary. Mr. Patel currently resides in Wylie, TX with his beautiful wife Katie.
