John Oakleaf, Ph.D.

Biography
I grew up in Wyoming and graduated with a B.S. in Wildlife Management from the University of Wyoming in 1996. I worked with grizzly bears, wolves, mule deer, and goshawks in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado before attending graduate school at the University of Idaho in 1999 through 2002, where I researched wolf/cattle interactions and habitat selection patterns of wolves in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming under Dr. Dennis Murray. From 2002 to present, I have been employed with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service working on Mexican Wolf Recovery in the southwestern United States and Mexico. I have a three-year old boy, Grayson (pictured above), and loving wife (Colby).
