College of Business Administration

Scholarships awarded through the dean's office of the College of Business Administration are based on academic achievement. A limited number of scholarships are available. Awards are usually between $200-$500 for the academic year. Generally, students whose cumulative GPA is below 3.0 are not considered.

All students in the college are considered for scholarships awarded through the dean's office and are evaluated on the basis of their cumulative grade-point averages and completed semester hours. Application forms are available in the Undergraduate Program Office.

All entering freshmen are considered for scholarships that are awarded through the dean's office and are evaluated on the basis of SAT1 and ACT scores, high school grades, and rank in class. There is no formal application process for entering freshmen wishing to apply for scholarships awarded through the dean's office.

Malouf and Iris Abraham Scholarship Awards
For entering freshmen in the college who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship. Amount is $500 for four years.

Accounting Scholarship
For accounting majors who evidence excellence in scholarship. Amount varies from $300 to $2,000.
Administered by Director of Accounting Programs. Application deadline: February 15 for following academic year.

Robert D. Amason Outstanding Senior Award
For a graduating senior who has maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA, has been nominated by at least one marketing faculty member, and who has demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for a marketing career during his or her undergraduate program. Given each fall semester, amount to be determined by the area.

American Association of Petroleum Landmen Endowment
For junior and senior petroleum land management majors who evidence excellence in scholarship and leadership. Amount and number vary.
Established and administered by the American Association of Petroleum Landmen Education Development Fund. Application should be made through the Area of Management.

AMOCO Foundation, Inc., Scholarship Endowment
For juniors and seniors, any majors, with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. Participation in an active civic or professional organization required.
Administered by the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee.

Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship
For a business administration sophomore or junior initiate into Beta Gamma Sigma whose scholarship, extracurricular activities, and leadership give promise for future success in business. Amount varies.
Established by Beta Gamma Sigma. Administered by membership of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Black and Decker Scholarship
For marketing majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students who are interested in a career in sales and promotion. Amount to be determined by the area. Awarded in the spring.

Elizabeth and I. Wylie Briscoe Chair in Banking Scholarship
For undergraduate or graduate students majoring in finance. Amount ranges from $1,000 to $1,500 (up to two awarded each year).
Administered by the Area of Finance Scholarship Committee.

M. L. Broughmen Scholarship Endowment
For junior or senior petroleum land management, geology, or petroleum engineering majors. Eligibility is based on academic performance along with a proven commitment to a chosen field of study. Application should be made through the specific area of study. Amount is $1,000.
Established by the Snyder Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute. Administered by the Office of Development.

James I. Campbell Endowment Scholarship Fund
For all majors. Based on academic excellence. Award is $200 minimum.
Established by Mr. and Mrs. James I. Campbell of San Antonio. Administered by the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee.

City Bank-Lubbock Scholarship
For undergraduate or graduate students majoring in banking, finance, or agricultural finance. Amount is $1,000 each (up to two awarded each year).

Solon Clements Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund
For all majors. Based on academic excellence. Award is $200 minimum.
Established by the Clements Corporation of Lubbock, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Solon Clements Jr. Administered by the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee.

R. Canon Clements Scholarship Endowment Fund
For all majors. Based on academic excellence. Award is $200 minimum.
Established by the Clements Corporation of Lubbock, in honor of Mr. R. Canon Clements. Administered by the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee.

Richard Colby Memorial Scholarship
For marketing majors with a 3.0 minimum GPA and who have been determined to be in need of such financial support. Amount to be determined by the area. Award is given each spring.

Dean's Scholarship for Graduate Studies
For graduate students entering the M.B.A. or M.S. degree programs in the college. Eligibility is based on academic performances, GMAT test scores, community activities, and work experience. Amount is $1,000.
Every application to the Graduate School, College of Business Administration, is automatically considered for this scholarship.

William P. and Janie B. Dukes Endowment
For undergraduate students majoring in finance. Amount varies from $1,000-$1,500.

Ernst & Young Scholarship
For undergraduate students in the college. Amount and number vary on an annual available basis.

Exxon Scholarship
For undergraduate MIS majors. Amount and number vary on an annual available basis.

Finance Association Scholarship
For undergraduate or graduate student majoring in finance. Amount ranges from $500 to $1,000 (one awarded each year).

Frito-Lay, Inc. Scholarship
For marketing majors planning to pursue careers in consumer good sales, product management, or institutional sales. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, exhibit leadership abilities in either campus organizations or with a part-time job while at Tech, and possess the personal qualities which indicate success in a marketing career. Four awards, amount to be determined by the area.

For students majoring in finance with a real estate interest who have met the minimum requirements of the College of Business Administration.

H.E.B. Grocery Company Scholarship Awards
For marketing majors planning to pursue careers in retailing. Applicants must have indicated an interest in retailing and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to juniors and seniors with outstanding personal qualities. Amount to be determined by the area, awarded each spring.

W. Hugh Hunter Memorial Scholarship
For undergraduate or graduate student majoring in finance. Amount is usually $1,000 (one awarded each year).

For undergraduate or graduate students majoring in finance. Amount ranges from $1,000 to $1,500 (up to three awarded each year).

JCPenney Scholarship
For marketing majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and financial need. Students interested in a retailing career will be given preference. Amount to be determined by the area; awarded each spring semester.

For sophomore, junior, and senior business administration majors who have at least 3.0 GPAs.

For a student majoring in finance. Amount is usually $1,000 (one awarded each year).

For all business administration majors. Based on academic excellence.

Bruce E. Lokey Outstanding Marketing Senior Award
For a graduating senior (either spring or summer) who has maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA, has been nominated by at least one marketing faculty member, and has demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for a marketing career during his or her undergraduate program at Texas Tech. Amount to be determined by the area.

For undergraduate or graduate students majoring in finance. Amount ranges from $1,000 to $1,500 (up to two awarded each year).

For junior or senior marketing majors. Based on an indication of need, overall academic standing, and personal qualities. Amount to be determined by the area.

For all majors, based on academic excellence. Amount and number vary.

For a student with an interest in small business or entrepreneurship. Award amount is $200 minimum.

Pinkies Scholarship

For junior or senior management majors who demonstrate outstanding scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. At least one award will go to a high performance management major in the 5-year BBA-MBA program. Two awards of $350 each.
Established by the Society of Advancement of Management based on numerous donations including a major contribution from Fred A. Underwood. Administered by membership of Society for Advancement of Management and faculty in the Area of Management.

Southwest Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Inc., of Lubbock Scholarship
For marketing majors with a 3.0 GPA and financial need. Awards will be given each spring semester to an individual in each classification. Amount is to be determined by the area.

For marketing majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are interested in a career in retailing. Amount to be determined by the area. Awarded each spring.

For a junior or senior finance major with a 3.2 or better GPA from the Texas Panhandle area. Award amount is $200 minimum.
