Texas Tech University

Have you ever wondered about regional accreditation in the United States?  Texas Tech has been accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) since 1923.  Pretty impressive!

As part of our accreditation with SACSCOC, Texas Tech submits a decennial reaffirmation report and a Fifth Year Report.  These reports are normal activities for SACSCOC-member institutions, and they require us to produce evidence of compliance with the Principles of Accreditation.  Most recently, Texas Tech submitted its Fifth Year Interim Report on March 11, 2021.  Our next reaffirmation of accreditation will occur in 2025.

In case you've ever wondered how our accreditation costs stack up against other regional accreditors, here's a chart that demonstrates estimated accreditation membership costs for the other regional accreditors.  These costs are estimated based on Fall 2020 student FTE.  As the chart below demonstrates, it is cost-effective for Texas Tech to remain a SACSCOC-accredited institution.
