The Academic Information and Support step will provide parents and family members a variety of resources for their student to utilize to support academic success.
Academic Advising and Class Registration
Your student will meet their advisor and register for classes during their scheduled RRO date.
Prior to class registration, students will need to complete the online modules component of orientation.
Tutoring
Math Tutoring
The Tutoring & Study Center is a free tutoring service provided by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Located in Room 106 on the first floor of the Math Building, the TSC is open to all students enrolled at Texas Tech. Students are welcome to stop by anytime during all operating hours (no appointment necessary).
Support Operations for Academic Retention (SOAR)
Support Operations for Academic Retention offers academic support services that promote student success in attaining their academic goals. All areas under SOAR aim to increase students' academic preparedness and that, in turn, raises the likelihood for academic success. Those areas are:
- The Learning Center (LC)
- Supplemental Instruction (SI)
- Programs for Academic Development and Retention (PADR)
- Texas Success Initiative (TSI).
Undergraduate Writing Center
The Undergraduate Writing Center assists students in all disciplines with all types of writing projects, from course assignments to personal writing tasks. Tutors are available both onsite and online and may assist students at any stage of the writing process. Tutors and students can work in either electronic or hard copy.
University Advising - EXPLORE helps students explore majors and validate choices based on active and informed decision-making strategies. The professional advisors engage students in creating academic plans that align with their academic, social, and professional goals. Services include: major exploration, campus resources, and semester planning. www.advising.ttu.edu
University Libraries
The University Libraries includes the University Library, the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, and the Architecture Library. The University Library is open 24/5 during each semester, 24/7 during finals. Personal Librarians are dedicated to each major and can assist patrons via email, chat, phone and one-on-one. www.library.ttu.edu
Student Disability Services and TECHniques Center
Provides a variety of accommodations and services for individuals with all disabilities.
Provides supplemental academic support services for students with LD, ADHD, and ASD, fee-for-service.
Information Technology
The IT Division provides a variety of computing resources for TTU, including student computing facilities, software site licenses, and more. Additionally, the TTU Office of the CIO provides other educational resources to raise cybersecurity awareness for the campus as part of the Cybersecurity Awareness Program.
