The Learn section will help you gain knowledge about resources Texas Tech has to offer your Red Raider to ensure their success. Here, you will learn about academic support resources, and resources related to Health and Wellness, Finances, and Expectations for your student as part of the Texas Tech community.
Academic Information and Support
Academic Advising and Class Registration
Your student will meet their advisor and register for classes on day two during their scheduled RRO date.
Prior to class registration, students will need to complete the online modules component of orientation.
Tutoring
Math Tutoring
The Tutoring & Study Center is a free tutoring service provided by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Located in Room 106 on the first floor of the Math Building, the TSC is open to all students enrolled at Texas Tech. Students are welcome to stop by anytime during all operating hours (no appointment necessary).
Support Operations for Academic Retention (SOAR)
Support Operations for Academic Retention offers academic support services that promote student success in attaining their academic goals. All areas under SOAR aim to increase students' academic preparedness and that, in turn, raises the likelihood for academic success. Those areas are:
- The Learning Center (LC)
- Supplemental Instruction (SI)
- Programs for Academic Development and Retention (PADR)
- Texas Success Initiative (TSI)
Undergraduate Writing Center
The Undergraduate Writing Center assists students in all disciplines with all types of writing projects, from course assignments to personal writing tasks. Tutors are available both onsite and online and may assist students at any stage of the writing process. Tutors and students can work in either electronic or hard copy.
University Advising - EXPLORE helps students explore majors and validate choices based on active and informed decision-making strategies. The professional advisors engage students in creating academic plans that align with their academic, social, and professional goals. Services include: major exploration, campus resources, and semester planning.
University Libraries
The University Libraries includes the University Library, the Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, and the Architecture Library. The University Library is open 24/5 during each semester, 24/7 during finals. Personal Librarians are dedicated to each major and can assist patrons via email, chat, phone and one-on-one.
Student Disability Services and TECHniques Center
Provides a variety of accommodations and services for individuals with all disabilities.
Provides supplemental academic support services for students with LD, ADHD, and ASD, fee-for-service.
Information Technology
The IT Division provides a variety of computing resources for TTU, including student computing facilities, software site licenses, and more. Additionally, the TTU Office of the CIO provides other educational resources to raise cybersecurity awareness for the campus as part of the Cybersecurity Awareness Program.

First Generation Transition & Mentoring Programs
First Generation Transition & Mentoring Programs (FGTMP) seeks to support undergraduate students that identify as first-generation in college (neither parent(s) or guardian(s) have earned a Bachelor's degree in the United States) as they pursue their undergraduate degree.

Texas Tech University tuition and fee payment dates may be found here. Student Business Services offers a variety of payment options and payment plans. Also note that if a student's registration is subject to cancellation for non-payment, Student Business Services will make numerous attempts to contact them by email through the student's @ttu.edu address, and by phone if a number is on file. Red to Black Peer Financial Coaching
Red to Black Peer Financial Coaching offers peer-to-peer financial coaching to students. We provide individual coaching sessions and group presentations on topics such as creating spending plans, the importance of starting to save early, maximizing financial aid (including student loans), how to choose employee benefits and establishing and wisely using credit.

Risk Intervention and Safety Education (RISE)
Provide education and services in the following areas: Alcohol and Other Drugs, Healthy Relationships, Violence Prevention & Response, Suicide Prevention, LGBTQ Resources, and Wellness.

The primary care clinic for the students of Texas Tech University located on campus. The clinic is staffed with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical psychologists and counselors.

The Student Counseling Center offers a variety of mental health services to help students succeed in both their personal and academic efforts. The Student Counseling Center offers numerous types of therapies to address mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, traumatic stress, panic attacks, substance abuse, eating disorders, body image concerns, relationship problems, and family stressors.

Expectations
The Office of Student Conduct maintains an educational environment conducive to learning through the administration of the Code of Student Conduct. Allegations addressed include: academic and general behavioral violations. The Code of Student Conduct can be found at here.

Office for Student Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct
The office is a safe place to report instances of sexual assault, harassment, stalking, intimate partner/relationship violence, and any other form of sexual and/or gender-based misconduct. Staff are specifically trained to assist students with remedies, resources, and support options, as well as providing students the opportunity for investigation, adjudication, and resolution of reported misconduct.

Student Legal Services provides various legal services to currently enrolled students. Common services for first-year students include lease reviews and mini estate planning packets.
