Kevin Grier is Professor of Political Science in the College of Arts & Sciences and the Gordon Tullock Professor of Political Economy in the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University. Professor Grier has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals including, The American Political Science Review, The American Journal of Political Science, The Journal of Politics, Political Analysis, Public Choice, The Journal of Development Economics and The Journal of Law and Economics. According to Google Scholar, his work has been cited over 5700 times. His teaching interests include Development, Quantitative Methods, and Political Economy.
Professor Grier earned his PhD in economics from Washington University in St. Louis where he studied with Barry Weingast, Kenneth Shepsle, James Alt and Douglass North among others. He's been a visiting professor of Political Science at CALTECH and Duke University.
