Training

At Texas Tech University, we offer a number of trainings related to sustaining our goal of an inclusive and equitable campus climate. We also offer and/or require other types of training related to workplace safety and student rights. These trainings, which are described below are not the only trainings required of faculty and staff, however, these are the trainings specific to our institutional campus climate initiative:

  • Implicit bias training for administrators
  • Implicit bias training for search committee chairs and members
  • Implicit bias training for faculty
  • EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity), Title IX, Clery Act, Ethical Conduct Online Training
  • Workplace Violence Prevention Training
  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)

In addition to the trainings listed above, Human Resources conducts the following trainings related to campus climate:

  • Leadership Series (required for managers and supervisors per OP 70.41)
  • Leadership Series 2.0 (required for managers and supervisors per OP 70.41)
  • New Employee Orientation
  • Weekly retirement webinars conducted by TTU's retirement vendors at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/hr/

Additionally, HR facilitates several book clubs throughout the year. Summer 2019 books included "Dare to Lead" by Brene Brown and "Happiness Fuels Success" by Shawn Achor.
